Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has relocated from his quiet hardware store job to an apartment complex in Boston. By day, he drives for Lyft, observing the lives of his passengers and intervening when he sees injustice—most notably rescuing a young woman from a group of abusive businessmen and helping an elderly Holocaust survivor, Sam Rubinstein, recover a stolen painting.
