Marina - Lopez

Between 2020 and 2021, she developed a music program for Casa San José, a non-profit serving the Latinx community in Pittsburgh.

Her music has been performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Transient Canvas, Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, and Boston’s White Snake Projects. Her opera, Not Our First American , premiered at the Pittsburgh Opera in 2019.

Marina López is a Mexico City-born, Pittsburgh-based composer, educator, and emerging writer recognized for blending musical genres and creating immersive artistic experiences. Her work often explores the intersection of psychological, ethnomusicological, and physical roots of her Mexican heritage.
