Typically 1mm to 2mm round elastic cord (depending on the scale you printed).

The "sweet spot" for tension is firm enough that the doll holds a pose but loose enough that the joints don't snap back or grind.

If the doll "kicks" or won't stay seated, the tension is likely too tight.
