Çelebi passed away on June 14, 2023 , at the age of 71 after a long period of illness.

Over a career spanning decades, he produced approximately 35 albums and numerous records, including popular works like Berivanım and Gayrı Dayanamam .

He began playing the saz at age nine and released his first record, Nuhun Gemisi , at just 16.
