In the high, mist-shrouded peaks of the Andes, where the air is thin and the sun feels close enough to touch, there lived a tree like no other. Its branches did not reach for the sky; instead, they bowed under the weight of hundreds of long, pendulous flowers—the , or as the locals called them, the Angel’s Trumpets .
