Lincoln discovers that "The Island" is a lie. The inhabitants are actually clones created to serve as organic "spare parts" (organs, bone marrow) or surrogate mothers for wealthy human sponsors, who are then killed once their organs are harvested.
In a futuristic 2019, Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) and Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson) live in a sterile, controlled underground compound.
